Slow Cooker Marinara

5 from 1 rating

Ingredients

  • 4 cans plum tomatoes, (400g / 14oz size)
  • 4 whole sundried tomatoes which have been marinaded in oil
  • 2 small red onions, diced
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup white wine
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp Italian dried herb mix
  • ½ Tbsp honey, depending on how sweet you like your sauce

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients in a slow cooker and cook for around 4 hours on high, or 6-8 hours on low, stirring every couple of hours.
  • When finished, use an immersion blender to puree the sauce directly in the slow cooker.

Notes

Different brands of canned tomatoes will have different amounts of water in them, so the final consistency of the sauce may be a little thicker or thinner than you would like. If that's a problem for you, just add some extra tomato puree or some water to get things to your taste.
