Banana Coconut Baby Oats {Iron Rich Baby Food}

A baby breakfast puree with the delicious tropical flavors of banana and coconut. This recipe uses ground oats or oat flour for a perfectly smooth texture. Oats are an excellent early source of iron for vegetarian and vegan babies. This recipe is also the perfect filling for a breakfast squeeze pouch for older babies and toddlers.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp oat flour, or finely ground oats
  • 1 large banana
  • 2 Tbsp coconut milk
  • 2 small chunks of fresh pineapple
  • Pinch or two of cinnamon

Instructions 

  • Combine all ingredients until smooth in a food processor or baby food maker.

Notes

You can substitute yogurt for the coconut if you prefer.
This will make about 5 30ml / 1oz servings for smaller babies (depending on the size of your banana) or two breakfast portions for an older baby or toddler. Nutritional info is based on the smaller portion.
