Instant Pot Green Lentils

How to make green lentils in the instant pot... and what to do with them! Batch cooking green lentils from dried is an economical way to load up on these amazing legumes. Green lentils are an incredibly versatile protein and shine in vegetarian and vegan recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (190 g) dried green lentils
  • 1.75 cups (415 ml) water

Instructions 

  • Add your green lentils to the inner pan of the instant pot. Pour water on top.
  • Place the lid on the instant pot and turn the valve to "sealing" position.
  • Select the "pressure cooker" setting and programme for 8 minutes (firmer lentils) or 10 minutes (softer lentils).
  • When the cycle is finished, do a quick release (to keep the lentils firmer) or allow a natural release (if you don't mind the lentils getting softer).

Notes

*Reduce to 1 and 1/2 cups of water if you want your lentils drier.
