So this is one of those recipes that reflects what I am actually eating day in, day out right now. Since I usually blog dinner creations, it didn’t occur to me for the longest time to actually share it with you guys but honestly? My peanut butter yogurt bowl is legit and awesome and I love it. So let’s talk.

It started with me being hungry and having very little food in the house that sounded appealing (pregnancy woes) except for, like, maybe some peanut butter? It became necessary to find ways of eating peanut butter that weren’t just eating it off a spoon. Several iterations later, we have this little bowl.

It’s a reasonably healthy way to gorge on peanut butter flavor, along with some of it’s best friends, the banana and the chocolate chip.

3 ingredient peanut butter yogurt

The base of the bowl is this creamy, dreamy peanut butter yogurt. Ooooh this is good. All you need to do is mix up some plain Greek yogurt with honey and smooth peanut butter.

If you’re just looking for a peanut butter yogurt recipe, you can make up a batch of this and not bother turning it into a “bowl”. It’s a great little treat on it’s own, and could be a nice snack for kids (but due to the honey, avoid it for infants under 1!).

The proportions I give are what works for me but you will want to taste it as you go. Different peanut butters have different levels of sweetness, so you may need more or less honey. I like to keep mine on the less sweet side. You may want more honey even with the exact same PB.

FYI I use Pip and Nut smooth peanut butter for this. It’s really runny (almost pourable) which makes it a dream to mix into yogurt.

Assembling your peanut butter yogurt bowl

In the bowl photographed, I used the whole amount of peanut butter yogurt that this recipe yields. It made a pretty picture but I am not necessary advocating it as one portion. It’s a LOT – very filling and calorie dense.

If it’s supposed to be a lighter snack just split the yogurt in two (or halve the recipe in the first place).

Once you’ve decided on your yogurt amount, bowl it up and then have fun with some toppings! I like to top it with chopped bananas and chocolate chips, as pictured. But that’s just me!

The possibilities are endless here. Berries? A spoonful of jam? Chocolate sauce? Go wild.

Ingredients

  • 4 heaped spoonfuls greek yogurt
  • 2 heaped spoonfuls smooth peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 small banana, or 1/2 a large banana, sliced
  • A sprinkling of chocolate chips

Instructions 

  • Mix the yogurt, honey and peanut butter together in a bowl until smooth. Top with sliced banana and chocolate chips.

Notes

This is a very filling yogurt – you want may to split the yogurt in two and save one portion to make two snack size portions.
